Key Features and Trims

Like other vehicles in Subaru’s current lineup, the 2023 Solterra family will include a range of different trim levels for drivers with different budgets and needs. The first wave of all-electric Solterra’s will feature three trims, the Premium, Limited, and Touring. Each one features sleek styling, including a redesigned front end, and is available in Galactic Black, Smoked Carbon, Harbor Mist Gray pearl, Elemental Red Pearl, Cosmic White Pearl, or in a two-tone scheme. Here’s how each of these trims stacks up:

Premium

The base level trim in the 2023 Solterra series is the Premium. Despite this, it has some serious perks that make it a fantastic choice for all customers. While it doesn’t sport as many extra features as the Limited and Touring trims, it shines on the efficiency front. It features the longest range of any vehicle in the series and a full charge allows the Premium to travel up to 228 miles. The Premium is also the most efficient in the Solterra family, achieving 104 MPGe.

That’s not where the features end for the Premium trim. It offers a wide variety of other perks, including 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, an eight-inch infotainment and navigation touchscreen, symmetrical all-wheel drive, X-mode with grip control for superior traction, and a variety of driver-assist technologies. As you can see, the Premium offers plenty of comfort and functionality, despite its position as the base model. Additionally, it will be more economical than the other trims, with an estimated MSRP of $46,220. The interior of the Premium model features a well-appointed interior with black cloth upholstery.

Limited

Moving up from the Premium, customers will have access to the mid-level Limited trim. This model offers a few significant upgrades over the base model while maintaining a great balance between performance and affordability. The range is somewhat shorter than the base trim, with an estimated range of 222 miles on a full charge. The Limited remains efficient, achieving an estimated 102 MPGe.

Customers who invest in the Limited trim will have access to a wide variety of upgraded features not included on the base model. These include a larger infotainment touchscreen, measuring 12.3 inches, 20-inch alloy wheels, dual liftgate spoilers, a hands-free power liftgate, a Harmon Kardon premium audio system, automatic parking assist, a remote key, and wireless device charging. The limited also includes a more luxurious interior with trimmed seats. The expected MSRP for the Limited model Solterra is $49,720.

Touring

The Touring is the top trim in the 2023 Solterra series and adds a wide variety of luxury features that are sure to please discerning customers. The trim retains the same range and efficiency as the Limited and features the same features plus extras. These include a sunroom, with retractable shade, heated and ventilated front seats, a black hood cowl, a smart rear-view mirror, and illuminated interior trim. The expected MSRP for the Touring is $53,220.

Like the Limited, the Touring trim comes with upgraded, vegan StarTex upholstery. Available colors include black or gray and blue. StarTex offers superior durability while remaining breathable, waterproof, and extremely easy to clean. Whatever you throw at it, the Solterra’s interior can handle the challenge.

e-Subaru Global Platform

The all-new e-Subaru global platform is the beating heart of the company’s new EV initiative. Subaru has long used a universal chassis that forms the base of their existing vehicles and they have now expanded that concept to their new line of EVs. The platform, developed in collaboration with Toyota, integrates battery packs into the floor of the chassis which gives vehicles a lower center of gravity and better handling. It’s also designed with exceptional rigidity which gives superior strength and safety. Another perk is that the front and rear wheels have separate motors, enabling all-wheel-drive.

2023 Solterra Launch

The 2023 Subaru Solterra will be going on sale soon at dealerships across the U.S. The first vehicles should begin arriving by the end of June 2022. Like other electric vehicles, the Solterra will qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit, and many states also offer incentives for customers who purchase electric vehicles.
